Friday Fictioneers is a group of people that gather in a virtual room and write stories. Rochelle is the hostess and she places a photo on the table that she has borrowed from someone and then we pick up our papers and pens to write a story. After we have all written them, we place them all on a wall so that everybody else can read them as well. Anybody is allowed in the room, there is no invitation.
Please feel free to read those that are on the wall already, and if you so desire write your own. There is plenty of paper and pens, but the pens start to run out when 100 words is reached. The only rule that Rochelle has, is that you read who the photo is from and mention that so that they get credit for. Don’t take the photo out of the room to use elsewhere, you don’t have permission unless you ask the person that originally took the shot.
My story is an ongoing one what I do with Jules Paige. We tell two sides of the same story, with my side of the story coming from the side of a vampire named Raynard. He has been chasing a woman – Saskia – and she has been evading him at every turn. She has help now with wards and people with subtle magic. Two weeks ago, Raynard had his burnt to the bone due to a ward, and last week, he entered the last resting place of his sire – Moria. He healed his hands in her dust and took the stake that had killed her, and one of her ribs. This rib is useful for tracking Saskia as she is a descendant of Moria. If you want to read the story from the beginning, you can find it on my blog here, or Jules’ here.
This week’s photo was supplied by Danny Bowman.

TURNING THE TIDE
It was dark when Raynard left the tunnels. He needed help. She had too many people helping her and they needed removing. He couldn’t do that alone, there were a few people that owed him favours; people that were still breathing because he allowed them to.
The phone in the graveyard was still working so he made four calls. Sometimes the scum of the earth have a use. He gave the first two people the description of Stan. He told the other two to meet him. He needed them for something special. To stop any trace, he broke the phone.
