Travel Theme: Yellow

It has been a few weeks since I have done Ailsa‘s travel theme, but I couldn’t resist this week’s one. Being Yellow and having Yellow Roses kind of fit together just perfectly.

  1. Gorgeous…particularly that first macro shot Al. I’m having some difficulty opening blogs while out in the boonies. Will be back to visit as soon as I can. πŸ™‚

    • Thank you Christina. I have red roses as well, a velvety feel and colour. Funnily enough, the cheaper flowers were a better quality than the 18 red Valentine roses that the shop was selling. They are not so bruised around the tips

    • How did I miss this comment? I seem to have missed a couple. Sorry 😦

I used to know the start of that song, but the words fail me now. I think it is a wonderful thing that you do, sending her flowers every birthday πŸ™‚ I bet she loves that

      • No need to apologize…I knew you over looked it by mistake. I was just teasing πŸ˜‰

“We’ll play the bango gaily, and we’ll sing the songs of yore,
And the Yellow Rose of Texas shall be mine forevermore….”
This song is very, VERY controversial in original form. Look it up on Wiki and you will see why. But it is still the song everyone sings! πŸ™‚

    • lol They are a nice colour. I brought these because they were on their sell-by date. I put some in with the red roses I brought as well. I sprayed them with water to give the droplet effect.

            • I’ve told my teens that when they keep their rooms tidy, we will get kitties. I have a cat already, but he isn’t one for cuddles.

            • Im so sorry, I was afraid that you had recently suffered the loss of a loved pet and, having said that, I might have brought the rain down again. 😦

I understand that though…some cats just are snugglers!

            • We did lose a cat a couple of weeks ago. She was one that we got when we moved into a house and the previous occupants left her behind. We had her for six years and she was 10 when we got her. She either had something like a tumour in her brain or dementia. She was eating cat litter, having fits, incontinent, so we had to do what was right for her. Our cat we have left, Gogh, he went in on himself, and a couple of weeks ago, he got a growth in his mouth. I was scared that we were going to lose him too, but it vanished as quickly as it came, but I took him to the vets anyway. Just to make sure.

            • He has started playing again and although he still does not have his appetite back, he is getting there. I first saw an animal grieve when we had our dog put to sleep about 8-9 years ago. The cat was devastated. When we got the dog, she had been maltreated by two previous owners. I was married at the time, and every time my (then) wife would raise her voice, the poor dog would wet herself and run and hide. Giving her a path was almost impossible because her first owner kept her locked in the bathroom all the time. So in the summer we would bath her or hose her in the garden. She loved it. Unfortunately, because of the beatings she took, she sustained quite drastic kidney damage. We gave her three glorious years though.

            • You will be eternally blessed for your love. It breaks my heart to know how cruel and heartless so many people are. I shall never understand it….thank God!!!

  2. very beautiful – and adds to the feel of valentine’s day this week – and actually feels nice because red and pink roses are everywhere – but the friendship feel wight he yellow roses is a nice side of love too! πŸ™‚

  3. Splendid! Splendid! Splendid! A royal!

Have a quiet night Alastair! πŸ™‚
