Friday Finds: March 21

FF2_MdFRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased).

So, come on — share with us your FRIDAY FINDS! (Hosted by Should Be Reading)

These books I have received as a result of the Galaxy chocolate promotion, so they are free ebooks upon entering a code. I have no idea what they are like, but they are books and they are free for the Kindle.

These are the three I got hold of today:

The Longest Holiday by Paige ToonLongest Holiday

Sometimes secrets surface after the wedding date. Another scintillating tale from the bestselling author of One Perfect Summer and Lucy in the Sky
‘Don’t wait for the storm to pass; learn to dance in the rain…’
Laura has been married to the man of her dreams for seven months. But a week before the wedding, Matthew made a terrible mistake.
Escaping the humiliation that is now her marriage, Laura is whisked off to Florida’s Key West by her best friend Marty. A carefree holiday full of cocktails and fun, surrounded by gorgeous, tanned men, is exactly what the doctor ordered.
Distraction comes in the form of sexy Cuban scuba diver Leo. Laura’s instant attraction to him knocks her flying, and she falls hard.

Sharp objectsSharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

It’s been a while… but Camille Preaker has finally gone home.

Sent to investigate the disappearance of two little girls Camille finds herself reluctantly installed in the family mansion, reacquainting herself with her distant mother and a precocious thirteen-year-old half-sister she barely knows. Haunted by a family tragedy, troubled by the disquieting grip her young sister has on the town, Camille struggles with a familar need to be accepted.

But as clues turn into dead ends Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims and realises: she will have to unravel the puzzle of her own past if she’s to survive this homecoming.

In the Land of the Long White Cloud by Sarah LarkIn the land of the long white cloud

Helen Davenport, governess for a wealthy London household, longs for a family of her own—but nearing her late twenties, she knows her prospects are dim. Then she spots an advertisement seeking young women to marry New Zealand’s honorable bachelors and begins an affectionate correspondence with a gentleman farmer. When her church offers to pay her travels under an unusual arrangement, she jumps at the opportunity.

    • Thank you 🙂 I have enjoyed the bars. My daughter had a bar but threw the wrapper in the bin. Which made a change 😆

  1. The Longest Holiday looks so light and fun. I haven’t read anything by Gillian Flynn other than Gone Girl but I’ve heard her other books are pretty dark so I’m a bit hesitant to pick them up. Happy Friday to you! 🙂

    • Thanks Jae 🙂 I had never heard of any of them. I had a choice of ten books and chose these three. IT’s an excuse to buy chocolate (as if there was ever a need for an excuse hehe)

  2. wishing we had the Galaxy promo here, too…Sarah Lark’s book sounds interesting 🙂 thanks for sharing

    • I bought a couple more Galaxy bars today so I can get some more hehe. Free books WOOHOO 😀 I’ll let you know when I get around to reading them 🙂
