Nothing Can Bring You Peace But Yourself ~ Ralph Waldo Emmerson

Sometimes we look elsewhere as a way of comfort. We look to food, drink, games, gambling, anything that will hide us from reality. What it comes down to though, is that none of that will work. Yes, it may deaden the worry or the problems, but it doesn’t resolve them. Only you can do that. Only you can fix your conundrums. Only you can fix your vexations. Breathe in, and exhale your doubts. Breathe in, and exhale your worries; breathe in, and exhale your difficulties. Now look on everything with sharper eyes. With a new sense. I’m not saying the problem will be fixed instantly, I am saying it will be easier to deal with.

I want to thank “We Drink Because We’re Poets” Facebook page for at least one of these quotes. Thank you.

Have a great week.

  1. Very true it is a state of mind, if we can achieve the skill of thinking positive through adversity then things become batter, or at least manageable until we can consolidate…that Anais Nin seems to be everywhere recently.

    • I know it is. I basically asked someone today if she could change it, she said no, I said why worry. Then I asked if worrying made a difference, she said no, so I asked her then why worry?

      • Did she say that didn’t help? Sometime a talking it out makes us realize that we need to let it go.
Course that could just be a female thing

  2. It is interesting, isn’t it, the many crutches we use in life, until we come to the realization that the answers we seek are inside ourselves. Love the Anthony Hopkins quote and the Anais Nin, which I have used a time or two myself. 🙂
