A True Friend Is The One Who Holds Your Hand And Touches Your Heart ~ Gabriel García Márquez

I decided to look for a Gabriel García Márquez quote seeing as this remarkable author passed away last week, and I had already written the previous posts.

We each have friends who are there for us at times, but what about those who are there when you don’t realise you need them? The ones who prop you up when you don’t even know that you have stumbled? The ones who give you a smile when you didn’t realise you couldn’t? These are real friends, these are the ones who see into your heart from a distance and come running so fast that you don’t realise they were away. Whether these friends are close by or miles away, and the running is metaphorical. These are the truest of friends. The ones who see the tears behind the smile, hear the sob behind the laugh, see the prop keeping you up. These are friends to cherish because they are too good to let go. Don’t lose them. And more importantly, don’t lose yourself.

    • Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. It’s actually given me an idea for a post. I had to cut this short before I rambled on and on lol
