A Day At The Aquarium

It was my daughter’s 16th birthday yesterday, so I took her to London.Β When my son was 16, I took him to the Natural History Museum, and I promised my daughter I would take her on her 16th, so I did. After we were in there for a while, we left and headed for the Embankment. She didn’t want to stay too long as it was a very busy day with loads of kids from all different schools there. From primary to sixth form – age 7-8, all the way up to – 16-17. So we went to the Aquarium as well. As I am disabled, I got in for a reduced, and my daughter got in for free.

I don’t normally post photos of this quality, but it said no flash photography (not that it stopped some people) so the photos are quite grainy. These are just from the Aquarium. Photos of London and the Museum will follow in the next few days.

  1. I love aquariums so I don’t mind at all that these might not be some of your best shots. Happy sweet 16th to your daughter. πŸ™‚

  2. As you know Al, I love aquariums, including the London Aquarium. I think the photos are clear and look fantastic. I especially like the crocodile – Snap, Snap, Snap – Admittedly, I haven’t played that card game for a long time.

  3. Happy Sweet 16 to Farrah & wishes to her for many…more!
Spending time with the kids & doing things for a bday is so grand. I find that that will make for happier memories than any material item.
    You’re a fab dad! πŸ™‚

  4. That looks amazing Al, I have never been but really need to visit one day. The pictures are great I find! So happy that you 2 had a great day together!

  5. You are such a good Dad. You have good photos. I took shots in an aquarium too at one point, and they didn’t turn out right, but I loved them just like I love yours!! Hugs

    • Thank you Terry. As my daughter said to me “It doesn’t matter whether the photos come out or not, we have the memory of it, and that is good enough”

  6. Happy Birthday to your daughter! I love the area of London by the Natural History Museum. First of all, exhibits aside, the building itself is gorgeous. And …. Victoria and Albert next door (of all the museums I have visited in London, the V&A is my favorite). For a 16 year old the Aquarium was a perfect place to go. Your photos look great to me! No apologies necessary. πŸ™‚

    • Thank you πŸ™‚ Two years ago I took my son for his 16th birthday, but we went to the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. I have not been to the Victoria & Albert.

  7. I love the pictures, quality “issues” and all. Aquariums are so relaxing to visit.

Happy birthday to your daughter! πŸ™‚

    • Thanks Sheena. It was a a great day. Standing on the perspex floor as soon as you went in, I could have stood there for ages watching them.
