My Teaser:LightningK

Even while the last white flashes seared the overcast sky, while hard crashes of thunder still echoed back to him from distant peaks and ridges, he hurried away from the trees and down a sloping field where the snow was knee-deep from previous winter storms. There was a crust on the snow, through which he kept breaking with each step, and progress was as difficult as if he had been wading through deep water.

  1. Nothing beats a storm in a horror book, it is almost quintessential. I will have to get myself a Koontz book to experience him myself, otherwise my horror education cannot be complete. I may start with this book…

    • I liked it so much I brought the company … no wait, that’s the wrong thing. That’s Remmington shaver. I liked it so much I brought another Koontz book yesterday from a charity shop. Very good condition as well. Only read once from the looks of the spine.

      The Good Guy

What does it take to be the Good Guy?

Tim Carrier likes to enjoy a beer after work – but when a jittery stranger sits down next to him one night, and Tim lets a misconception over his identity stand for a moment too long, his wayward sense of humour looks set to lead him into trouble.

As the stranger hands Tim a cash-filled envelope with the words, “You get the rest when she is gone”, it becomes very clear that he has been mistaken for someone very different from himself – for a cold-blooded killer. And then the killer walks into the bar a split second later, Tim realizes the encounter may not only cost him his peace of mind, it could cost him his life …

          • Both good reasons for not drinking in a pub, I do it less these days than I used to. It’s nice for an hour or two when it’s quiet which usually makes me look like a raging alcoholic as the quietest times are the earliest.

            • Haha. I remember in the 1980s when they brought in early morning pubbing, and then in the 90s they brought in the 24 hour opening which didn’t stay long
