Friday Fictioneers: A Blast Of Air

Every week, Rochelle shares a photo with us so we can write a piece of fiction with around 100 words. If you would like to have a go, head HERE, and if you would like to see some of the stories other people have written, then go HERE

Gunthor crawled around the cavern, his usual haunt when he wasn’t further up with the “intelligent” ones. He heard something that sounded like a huge intake of breath, and he froze. Looking around, he called out to his friend, “Raquel? Are you there?” A muffled sound came from the cavern nearby. As he started to head towards her, he heard what appeared to be another breath, and he started crawling faster. “Raquel!” he shouted. “Hold on!” Suddenly a huge whoosh blew through the cavern and Gunthor lost his grip, flying backwards and out of the cavern. He landed on the ground with Raquel beside him. “Did we just get sneezed out of our human’s nose?” he asked her.

  1. Yuckky … Al .. this photo defeated me … totally brilliant on your part to have been able to come up with such an entertaining story! But yuckky! 😀

    • Thanks Susan. The moment I saw the image, it looked like it had been ejected forcibly via a sneeze, so I just had to go with it. Maybe if he had stood still, he wouldn’t have tickled the nasal cavity.

  2. Oh Alastair, Alastair! That was very clever. I wonder how many others thought of that, but weren’t game to write it 😀 Sadly, Rochelle has beaten me to all the good one liners.

  3. Dear Al,

Your story is nothing to sneeze at. (How could I resist?) Ever hear of the movie “Fantastic Voyage?” It’s about a team of scientists shrunk down to microscopic size to save someone’s life. Really cutting edge…for the 60’s 😉

At any rate. Delightfully clever story. Snot what I expected from you.

    shalom,

    Rochelle

    • Haha brilliant Rochelle. I love it. I did remember the Fantastic Voyage. This week’s Dr Who was something akin to that as well if you watched it. Love those puns. Thank you
