That’s No Moon, That’s A … Oh, It Is A Moon

My daughter was standing on the balcony last night, and she asked me if I wanted to take a photo of the moon. After some persuading, as I had taken one a few days before, I finally took my camera and tripod out onto the balcony to take a photo of the waning moon. I was stunned with how well it turned out.

    • Thanks Courtney.

I had it set on manual, so none of it was done by the camera (so very surprised it came out looking like this)

      Shutter speed is 1/640
F- stop is 9 (I tried it on 11 and it was too dark, then tried 7 and it was too bright)
ISO is 800 (again, 400 and 1600 gave either too much graininess or just couldn’t see it)
      No flash.
And apparently, the subject was 4,294,967,295 metres away hehe.

      • I love this! I am so happy to have the settings to try! Thank you…..
You may have a better telephoto lens than I do and I’m sure that will make a difference, but mine is pretty good. We shall see what happens because it will be better than what I do now for sure! 😉

  1. Awesome capture. Of course, now I have Pink Floyd running through my head, but that isn’t a bad thing at all 🙂
