Photo of the Week 2016 – Week 8

I couldn’t resist this little cutie when it flew through the fence and onto the tree beside me. A pity I couldn’t get a clearer shot. This has been cropped as there is a lot of greenery around the edges of the bird. Click on the image for a larger photo.

    • Thanks David. I was lucky that it flew past me and into the bush. My son had my camera bag, so it was just a case of nipping the camera out and taking a few shots. I was very lucky.

  1. I don’t know much about birds, they flit about too much to really get a look at but your photo catches it at rest and allows me to actually appreciate it for what it is, a twittery featherball (in a good way).

  2. Oh, how sweet! Perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing. Looks great to me!
I can’t get that close to my wild birds…yet.
I’ll see if I can find some of my vacation (holiday pics and send you an e-mail).

    • Thank you 🙂 My photography seems to have taken a step backward at the moment. I need to go over the tips and stuff to get the crisp photos again.

  3. The bright colors tells me this is probably a male? But I do not know what kind of bird it is… it is quite beautiful though! 🙂
We have a bird here called an Eastern Bluebird and they build their nests in boxes we provide for them. Quite beautiful and we had a pair checking out our new rental yesterday! 😀 Birds are so much fun to watch…
